Nice group Cam,there is no better way to check your form and equipment that doing long distant groups ,it also builds confidence. When I practise I start at 50yards and work out to 100yards and if conditions are good farther. With your grouping I think your ready ,now ya just gotta get in shape LOL .I was wondering what your longest shot at game was, I know of the one mule deer at just over 50 yards and what your longest shot your willing to take, I know its a touchy subject but would be interesting to know thanks

Hey guys, thank you for the comments and for swinging by my website. We will see if all my practice pays off here in the next couple of days…spot & stalk antelope in Wyoming. Doesn’t get any tougher than that. Those wily, skittish, small targets that call the wide open plains home can test anyone, regardless of shooting skill. Maybe not Randy Ulmer, but everyone else.

To answer your questions, yes I shoot right around 80 lbs all the time. Always have. I like those heavy arrows hitting hard (78 pounds of KE). It gives me confidence. Longest shot on a game animal…gotta be antelope. I seldom ever use any pin other than my first two or three…my average kill, on all my hunts, over the past five years is a shade over 28 yards. But, on antelope, I have had to use my 50 and 60 yard pins. That is why I shoot every day. I expect to perform in crunch time. Still need those animals to cooperate though. Last year I stalked and spooked 15 or 16 antelope bucks before I finally put it all together. Bowhunting is tough, but the guys that work the hardest will fill their tags consistently. Such is life!!!

In regard to Waddell…I doubt anyone is a bigger fan of his than me. Maybe my kids? I mention shooting against him because I love to compete…in everything. He might spank me on the range, I have seen him make a lot of tough shots on TV so I know he can shoot. But I would love to give it a go someday. Good luck fellas….keep hunting hard! Cam

Awesome video. Do you shoot 80lbs all the time? Or just for hunting? Either way, nice group. I have just been playing around with 80 yards as I just got the 7 Deadly Pins (20-80 Yards) It has really helped tighten up my groups at 30-40-50 yards. If you ever want to come play with some big alberta mulies, let me know.
